Dr. Flapan specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, while practicing Pain Management. She received her medical degree at Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Glendale, Arizona with rotating internship from Midwestern University, Glendale, Arizona. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at University of California, Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, along with Acupuncture Training for Physicians at Helms Medical Institute, UCLA, Geffen School of Medicine.

She is a board-certified physiatrist with over 16-years of experience. Dr. Flapan diagnoses and treat patients with a multitude of spinal, musculoskeletal and nerve injuries, and disease, contributing to painful conditions. Her patient population is a mixture of all ages ranging from adolescents to the very elderly. Her patients typically have orthopedic, sports-related, neurologic, rheumatologic, industrial/occupational, or psychiatric/psychologic conditions. Common diagnoses are arthritis, neck pain, back injuries, neuropathy, shoulder, hip, knee pain, headache, depression, anxiety, and fibromyalgia. She can diagnose and manage acute and chronic pain with conventional methods such as, physical therapy, medication management, referrals for injections and procedures, as well as referral for surgery if needed. She can also help patients participate in supportive therapy and alternative and complementary modalities.

Dr. Flapan’s goal for all her patients is to focus on restoring optimal functioning and enhancing quality of life so they can get back to being more active and feeling better.

Dr. Flapan enjoys the mountains immensely and loves to ski, bike ride, hike, and paddle board on the endless alpine lakes. She also enjoys cooking Italian dinners with her husband for family and friends.
